NEW APPLICATION BY TRAFALGAR ESTATE

BRICKWORTH CROSS ROADS NEW ROAD APPLICATION

FOR MOOR FARM ACCESS INCLUDING INDUSTRIAL SITE

CLOSING DATE FOR OBJECTIONS - 31 August 2000

WE ARE TOLD YOUR ORIGINAL OBJECTIONS ARE INVALID AND UNFORTUNATELY THIS MEANS PLEASE RE-WRITE YOUR OBJECTIONS AGAIN TO:

Director Environmental Services, Ref GGW/SH/S99.0016(Temp.no)
Wiltshire County Council, County Hall, Trowbridge, Wilts, BA14 8JD

WHAT IS AT STAKE:

Allowing the road to gain planning consent will increase the probability of Moor Farm becoming a huge landfill site for household waste from Wiltshire and the surrounding counties along with the establishment of a recycling centre.

THIS APPLICATION ESTABLISHES A NEW ROAD WITH THE TRAFFIC LIGHTS AT BRICKWORTH GARAGE BECOMING A 4 STAGE CROSSROADS
3 lanes either way with HGVs crawling at 20mph up either hill creating a safety hazard. This will increase congestion at Brickworth Corner, causing increased tailbacks throughout the day especially at peak hours. The suggested layout of the junction is dangerous and will make the right turn across two lanes of traffic into the properties at the Granary adjacent to Brickworth Corner a hazardous manoeuvre.

VISITING PEPPERBOX HILL, A SPECIAL SITE OF SCIENTIFIC INTEREST, THE NEW ROAD

creates another eyesore in a Special Landscape Area, increases pollution in dust, litter and dirty vehicle gases. It includes an industrial complex consisting of a Large Lorry Car Park, Workshop, Fuel Dump, Weighbridge and holding area for vehicles before 0730

MASSIVE LORRY INCREASE THROUGH WHITEPARISH STREET

Whiteparish Street is single lane road. The proposal suggests initially some 100 lorry movements per day - many through Whiteparish.

Mr Lander, Wiltshire County Council, objected to the Sherfield English because there was no a routeing agreement to avoid Whiteparish.

THERE ARE VARIOUS SPECIES OF BUTTERFLY AND FAUNA

in that area and any new road, removing hedge rows and with its dust and pollution could increase the demise of these species.
