ACCESS TO WILTSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL COMMITTEE REPORTS ON WASTE PLANNING ISSUES

TAKING FORWARD THE RESULTS OF PUBLIC OPINION ON WASTE

Thank you for taking me up on my suggestion to place full copies of the County Council's Committee Reports on waste planning matters directly onto the Whiteparish Preservations Group's website. Your assistance is much appreciated.

I am aware from visiting your website that the Area of Search understandably remains a contentious issue for local residents. I am also aware that perhaps the decisions being made by the County Council and the considerations it takes onto account are perhaps not being as fully reported to the wider local community as they might be.

To this end therefore, and as agreed, I have now arranged for Committee Reports to be e-mailed to you for display on the website as a matter of course. I would be grateful if you would ensure that the reports are displayed on the website in their entirety. Following on from the Committee meetings I will also e-mail to you the Minutes of the meetings, so that website users will be able to see the decisions reached by the County Councillors.

On the more general issue of keeping the public informed on how the Waste Issues and Options document is being progressed I am:

I am pleased to say that both the Whiteparish Preservation Group and Whiteparish Parish Council have accepted the Council's invitation to attend the Forum.

For your further information I understand that the County Council is aiming to have its own website up and running in July this year. I understand that the website's content is being discussed and agreed at the current time and that it may include copies of Committee Reports under the Committee Services Section.
